I had a good night's rest and wasn't jetlagged at all. Except I woke up in the middle of the night and turned around and looked up... and Maria happened to be staring down at me that moment. Yeah, I was super freaked out till the point I yelped. LOL!
Woke up feeling great, and actually woke up early too. haha. Took shower and then Naomi drove us all to North Shore (that is north of Oahu... obviously LOL). First was the Dole Plantation Maze, which I believe is the largest maze in the world... or at least that's what they announced. The objective of this maze is to find all 8 stamps around the maze. Thankfully we had Priscilla and she knew basically where all the stamps were. Other than that it was aimlessly walking left, right, and through bushes. LOL!
Dole... where our pineapples are grown
The maze. Very big and confusing... and so green.
Two baby birds who frantically tried to run away because they couldn't fly
Which way to go? Confused...
Maria and I debating over which gate to go through. LOL!
No worries, we got all 8 stamps and got out. No prize for finding all though. =(
Baby pineapple in the growing
I felt like such a tourist... LOL!
After the maze, we went to get lunch to eat at the beach. Naomi and I got shrimp and rice, and believe me, it is the best I have ever eaten. MM. I got the garlic shrimp, and they are NOT stingy about the amount of garlic. LOL. Priscilla and Maria got McDonalds. haha.
The shrimp van. I signed my name too, small and scrawly, somewhere...
My shrimp and rice. Yumness
We ate lunch at the beach, except for Naomi who stayed in the car and read The Robe... there was no parking =( So Priscilla, Maria, and I hit the beach and swam in the ocean. Wow... it was such a clean beach and what's better, really clear blue sea. It was super nice and I wish Japan was like that too. haha
Maria and me
Again Maria and me. And despite what everyone says, I have only seen 2 people, aside from Naomi, Priscilla, and Maria (and that, I asked them to do it.. LOL) do the aloha shaka sign. I don't think I've even heard anyone say aloha... LOL
Priscilla and me dancing..yep, neither land nor water will stop Priscilla from dancing
Yep, the beach. It was a little more crowded than this but still, not as crowded as... as.. ok, Enoshima. LOL
Haha, might look familiar to my faithful blog readers
Mountain and valley. See what I mean about Hawaii having a good balance of everything?
We went back to the Dole Plantation to see the souvenier shop and also eat their famous ice cream. More yumness
Naomi was talking to me when suddenly she said "Your tongue is yellow." LOL! Then we all realized the pineapple made our tongues yellow orange colour!! BLEEECH
I tried the oyster pearl thing there, and got the pearl. The Taiwanese lady in charge of this has super good sales skills and could have gone on forever. LOL!
After this, we went to an outlet (Maria and I call it Gotenba Outlet... LOL) and to the Skechers shop. They had a pretty good deal there and so I got 2 shoes, very niceeee. Will wear tomorrow!
Big right?? yes, it's very big
Came back, washed the sea salt off, and then Priscilla, Maria, and I went to Waikiki. Priscilla's friends got free tickets for us to go to a fundraising event. This part is more city, modern part of town. It was nice too. =) At least in daytime. haha.
Waikiki city... the business spot
Loads of people there... free food, some activities, auction
Wah, and even fashion show. LOL
Funky trees
Me, in the aloha spirit. Yes, I know my left arm is too straight. haha.
Asked another tourist to take photo for us. haha. I likee this photo!
Ok time to sleep now. It's about 10.34p.m., but thanks to Naomi and Priscilla and Maria (they are super energetic by the way. They go to loads of places in one day, I feel so pampered) I've done a lot today and time to rest. Hopefully tonight I will not wake up and see Maria staring again. LOL!
